چکیده
This paper concerns the origin and genetic hehavior of thrtc body color mutations, which have manifested themselves in my cultures of the so-called "four-spotted cowpea-weevil," Brll(/Jus quadri",o(ulalus, Fahr. The wild type (male and female) have tan body and e~ytral color. The first mutation observed was a red body color dominant to the wild type. This mutation although it was transmitted by both sexes regardless of the previous combination 'manifested a marked sexual dimorphism; the females appear with red· elytra and body color but the males are of the wild type (tan body and elytral color). The second mutant female was 'black and was likewise sex-limited in behavior because the female in pure cUltures were always black while the males were always of the wild type (tan). Both ~es carried the same genes regardless-Of the nature of the cross. Black was dominant to tbe wild tyPe, (taD) bUt'recessive to.red. The third mutation to be considHed in dUa' paJ)ft was a·, white "female. .After pure Jines had betn isolated, it ~waS discovered that, tbe females had always a white body and

P30: Are There Anxious Genes?
Anxiety comprises many clinical descriptions and phenotypes. A genetic predisposition to anxiety is undoubted; however, the nature and extent of that contribution is still unclear. Extensive genetic studies of the serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT) transporter (5-HTT) gene have revealed how variation in gene expression can be correlated with anxiety phenotypes. Complete genome-wide linkage s...
متن کاملA review of artificial gynogenesis in the Caspian Sea sturgeons
In sturgeon, female-sex rearing is economical and gynogenesis induction is one of the ways to achieve it. In gynogenesis, an egg develops without the genetic influence of the male, or on the other words, it is a method of reproduction in which the offspring are formed exclusively from the genetic information of the mother. In this technique, the sperm used must be genetically inactivated. Rays ...
متن کاملHeritability for Stroke: Essential for Taking Family History
There are many well-established factors that influence the risk of stroke including blood pressure, diabetes, low socioeconomic status and smoking, however, the shared genetic resource in members of a family effect on stroke predisposition. Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have demonstrated evidence of a shared genetic source in stroke risk. This review considered the influence of family...
متن کاملThe role of cytokine and its relation to depression and infection complications in pediatric cancer
Inflammation plays a critical role in the progression of cancer in children. On the other hand, children with cancer experience abnormal activation of the inflammatory system. Moreover, it is known that these patients have a predisposition to depression. According to studies, moderate to severe depression was observed in about 63% of children with cancer and acute illness. Therefore, identifyin...
متن کاملNeurofibromatosis, its types and treatment prospects
Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder that causes tumors in nerve tissue. These tumors can grow in any part of the nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord and nerves. The disease gene can be passed from a parent to a child through marked autosomal dominant inheritance or it can happen due to a spontaneous mutation of a gene. A parent with neurofibromatosis has a 50% chance of passing...
